A faculty member or adviser is often the first person a student turns to when seeking career advice. As you work to assist students who are considering their potential future career paths, feel free to refer students to ECS if a career-related question comes up. The career advisers in our office work one-on-one with students to help them:
- Prepare for and make career connections
- Identify specific career goals and develop strategies to achieve them
- Arrange internships, research experiences, jobs and admission to graduate and professional school

To refer a student to ECS, you may direct the student to our online appointment scheduling software, available on our home page. During the academic year, students may stop-in for a “drop-in” advising appointment, which are available Monday-Friday from 12:00 pm-4:00 pm. Alternatively, you may email us ecs@engineering.illinois.edu or call our office at 217-333-1960 to speak to a staff member for more assistance.
